Stripe, the payment provider in Hopoti, is updating its verification requirements for European accounts to stay current with evolving Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. Due to these changes, some Hopoti Businesses need to submit additional information or documents by July 20.

What to do?

To check this needed information in more detail and start submitting them, please go to your Hopoti Business pages -> Settings -> Payments -> Fill in Stripe information.

What's changing?

Accounts created in the European Economic Area (EEA) will need to verify their beneficial ownership structure to satisfy Stripe's new regulatory requirements. Ensuring that the information is up to date helps Stripe, Hopoti, and all Hopoti businesses be safe and compliant and protect against fraud.

From Ireland?

Specifically, Stripe will need to verify the account's registration in the Register of Beneficial Ownership (RBO) in Ireland. If Stripe cannot find matching registration information, you will need to upload a document showing proof of registration. For a list of accepted document types for Ireland and step-by-step instructions on how to use the RBO website, please refer to How to collect Beneficial Ownership Information from the RBO.

Need any help?

We suggest getting started with the updated information now, as gathering the needed information and documents can take a while. Hopoti Support team is ready to help you with any questions or issues submitting the required information.
