🗓️ How cancellation policies work

The five policies stables can use, until when you can cancel with a credit, and what applies to seasons, camps and Memberships.

Every lesson, course, camp and service at your stable has a cancellation policy, chosen by your stable. It decides until when you can cancel and still get a credit, so different lessons can have different deadlines.

The five policies

Each policy sets how long before the start you can cancel and still get a credit:

Policy

You can cancel with a credit

Full (0h)

Until the lesson starts

Flexible (12h)

Until 12 hours before the start

Standard (24h)

Until 24 hours before the start

Strict (48h)

Until 48 hours before the start

No return

Never: the purchase can't be cancelled. Usually for camps and courses that have no similar lessons later where you could use a credit

You see a lesson's policy under Cancellation policy when you open it on your stable's Booking page, and in My calendar after booking. Select the question mark next to the policy to see what each policy means.

The Cancellation policies pop-up with the intro text, the tabs Full (0h), Flexible (12h), Standard (24h), Strict (48h) and No return, and the Standard (24h) tab open: 24 hours before the start of the event, how to cancel and what credit you get back.

What you get when you cancel in time

When you cancel in time, you get a one-time Stablecard with one credit for booking another lesson. A credit isn't money back: see Can I get a refund?

How long the credit is valid depends on how the lesson was paid, for example until the end of the season for a season lesson. Your stable decides which lessons it can be used for. For every case, and how to use your credit, see Cancel a booking and get your credit.

If you cancel too late

You can still cancel after the deadline, and you should: your stable then knows you're not coming and can give the place to someone else. You don't get a credit unless your stable makes an exception, so ask them directly.

Seasons, camps, Memberships and paying at the stable

Some bookings follow their own cancellation rules:

  • Seasons: you can cancel single season lessons under their own policy, which is usually not No return. A whole season usually can't be cancelled once you've bought it.

  • Camps usually have No return, so you can't cancel a camp once you've bought it.

  • Memberships: you can't cancel a lesson that your Membership holds. If you can't come one week, let your stable know: they can remove you from that date and give you a Stablecard credit, valid for 3 months. If your stable cancels a lesson and gives credits, you get one too. To stop for good, give notice: see Join a monthly Membership.

  • Bookings you pay at the stable: you can cancel only if your stable allows it for that payment method, and only before the deadline.

To cancel a booking step by step, see Cancel a booking and get your credit. The formal terms are in our Cancellation policy.
