👤 Add your own horse and keep care records

Add your horse to Hopoti, keep its care records and share them with your stable.

If you own a horse, add it to Hopoti to give it its own Hopoti page, keep its care records in Horsecare, and share them with your stable and anyone else who looks after it.

Before you start

  • Adding a horse to Hopoti is free.

  • Without Hopoti Plus, you can add Other entries in Horsecare for a horse you share with the Hopoti stable where it lives. All other entry types need Hopoti Plus.

  • If your stable has already added your horse and given you access, the horse is already under My horses on your profile. Use that horse instead of adding it again, so there's one set of records.

Add your horse

  1. Select Horses in the top bar, then My horses.

  2. Select Add horse.

  3. Fill in your horse's basic information and save it.

Your horse now has its own Hopoti page and shows under My horses on your profile.

Keep care records in Horsecare

Open Horsecare from the Horses page of your profile. Horsecare has these entry types:

  • Treatment: Shoeing, Hoof Trim, Dental, Massage

  • Medical: Vet, Medication, Vaccination, Worming

  • Others: Activity, Day off, Accident, Close call, Other

Without Hopoti Plus, you can add only Other entries. All the other entry types need Hopoti Plus.

To add an entry, select New entry or a day in the Horsecare calendar. You can also select Add new on My calendar and choose Horsecare. An entry can have a description, attachments such as a vet's report, and the dates your horse can't be worked. Medication entries also have medical bookkeeping fields. Select an entry to view or change it.

Add planned treatments too, such as the next shoeing, so the entries remind you when they're due. To print records, select Print and choose the period, horses and categories.

Share your horse with your stable or others

Share your horse so everyone who looks after it sees the same records.

  1. On the Horses page of your profile, open your horse with its Horse Window button.

  2. Go to Edit and select Change permissions.

  3. Select Add stable or Add user, and choose their access: Read to see the horse's information, Editor to also change it, or Admin for full rights to the horse.

  4. Select Confirm, then Save changes.

The stable or person can now see your horse and its Horsecare records.

Horsecare with and without Hopoti Plus

What you can add in Horsecare depends on whether you have Hopoti Plus and where your horse lives. Open the part that fits you:

If your horse lives at a Hopoti stable

You can keep Horsecare records without Hopoti Plus for a horse you share with its Hopoti stable. Either your stable gives you access to the horse, or you add the horse and give the stable access. You and the stable then keep one shared set of records. Without Hopoti Plus, you can add only Other entries for this horse.

If you have Hopoti Plus

With Hopoti Plus you can add every Horsecare entry type for all your horses, wherever they live, and share the records with everyone who looks after them. See What you get with Hopoti Plus.
