💰 Ways to pay

The ways you can pay at your stable: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, local methods, paying the stable directly and Stablecards.

You choose how to pay at checkout when you book or buy something. What you can choose depends on your stable and your country.

Pay online

Under Pay online you can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay or a local method, such as iDEAL in the Netherlands, Swish in Sweden or Pay by Bank in the UK. Checkout shows the methods for your country.

If your stable has added a booking fee (your stable may use its own name for it), the prices you see already include it: see Why is there a booking fee on my price?

The Payment method step at checkout, Choose payment type: Pay online with the Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and G Pay logos, followed by the stable's offline methods Cash on arrival, Voucher and Cash at the stable office.

Pay the stable directly (offline)

Some stables let you book now and pay them outside Hopoti, for example in cash or by bank transfer. These offline methods show at checkout under your stable's own names.

  1. Choose the offline method and read your stable's payment instructions below it.

  2. Select Confirm booking.

Your place is booked and you get an invoice marked Offline payment, due on the lesson date. Hopoti emails you your stable's payment instructions 24 hours before the lesson. Pay the stable as the instructions say, and the stable marks the invoice as paid. If your stable allows it, you can also pay the invoice online under Invoices: see Pay your invoices.

With an offline payment, you can cancel the booking yourself only if your stable allows it for that method, and only before the cancellation deadline.

Use Stablecard credits

With a Stablecard, you book the lessons it's valid for with credits instead of paying each time: see Buy and use Stablecards. Gift cards can't be used at checkout: your stable redeems them with you. See Buy a Pass or a gift card.

Other ways to pay

These depend on where your stable is and how you like to pay:

If your stable is in Finland

Stables in Finland take online payments through Paytrail: Finnish online banking, cards, MobilePay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and pay-later options. Pay-later options can cost you extra, so check their terms at checkout.

If you pay from a US bank account (ACH)

Some stables in the United States let you pay from a US bank account (ACH). Your booking is confirmed straight away, and the transfer itself takes 1-4 business days. If your bank returns the payment, your booking is cancelled and you get an email.

If the lesson is too soon for bank payments at your stable, you're asked to choose another way to pay, and you can still book. Your stable may show a lower price for bank payments, ending in "when paying by ACH".

If you want Link to fill in your card details

Link is Stripe's checkout service that saves your card details so you don't type them every time. Hopoti doesn't store your card details. When you pay by card, select Link (it may appear only after you type your card details) and sign up with your email address. On a new device, or after 90 days, you confirm it's you with a one-time code. Parents' Link details also work on their children's accounts. Link isn't available in Finland.

To change or remove your saved details, go to link.com.

If you don't see the way to pay you want

Check these in order:

  1. Your stable or country doesn't offer it. Local methods depend on your country, and each stable chooses its own offline methods.

  2. You're paying for a Membership, a Stablecard, a Pass or a gift card. These are always paid online.

  3. The offline method has an amount limit. It's offered only for prices within a set range.

Payment didn't go through? See My payment failed or I was charged twice. Still stuck? Message our team in the chat with your stable's name and what you were paying for.
