With a family account, you book, pay and cancel for your children from your own login. Your account is the parent account, with a child account for each child. Children don't need an email address. Add them when you sign up (see Create your Hopoti account) or any time later.
Add a child to your account
Log in to your own Hopoti account.
Open the menu in the top-right corner and select Account settings.
Open Family Accounts.
Under Add Child, select New Account.
Fill in your child's name and rider details, and save.
Your child now has a child account linked to yours. Add each of your children the same way.
Book and pay for your children
Book for one child at a time. In the lesson's booking window, select the account button next to Continue booking and choose your child under Switch account. You can also switch, and switch back, with Switch account in the menu in the top-right corner.
You pay for your children, and their invoices come to your parent account.
Emails about your child's bookings come to you, and to your child too if their account has its own email address.
Your children's bookings show in your calendar, and you can cancel them there.
If your stable offers Memberships, join from your own account: under Who is riding?, select Change participant and choose your child. Your child is the member and you pay. See Join a monthly Membership.
You can be logged in to only one account at a time, so don't open family accounts in separate browser tabs.
Other family set-ups
Open the situation that fits your family:
If your child already has a Hopoti account
If your child already has a Hopoti account
Link your child's account to yours from the child's account:
Log in to your child's Hopoti account.
Go to Account settings and open Family Accounts.
Under Add guardian, enter your own account's email address and save.
You can now switch to your child's account from yours.
If your child should log in on their own
If your child should log in on their own
With its own email address and password, a child account can log in, book and cancel lessons, and see its horse. You can still use it from your account.
In your own account, go to Account settings > Family Accounts, edit your child's details and add an email address and password. The email address can't belong to another Hopoti account. If it won't save, your child probably has an account with it already: link that account with Add guardian, as described under "If your child already has a Hopoti account".
If two parents want to manage the same child
If two parents want to manage the same child
A child account can be linked to only one parent account, so a second parent can't link their own Hopoti account to the same child.
Instead, give the child account its own login for the second parent to use. In your own account, go to Account settings > Family Accounts, edit your child's details and add an email address and password. Emails about the child's bookings then go to that address too. The email address can't belong to another Hopoti account, so it can't be the one the second parent already uses for their own Hopoti account.

Each email address can belong to only one Hopoti account. Log in with your email address and, under Account settings > Family Accounts, add a child account in your own name (not your child's), without an email address. Then message our team in the chat to sort out the two accounts.

If your stable allows transfers, transfer the paid booking to your child from your own calendar: see Give a booking or Stablecard credits to someone else. Otherwise, or if the booking isn't paid yet, ask your stable to move it.
